Exfoliation
A. Preparation Before Exfoliation
1. Required Tools & Products
- Gentle facial cleanser (to cleanse the skin beforehand).
- Exfoliating product suitable for your skin type:
+ Physical exfoliant: fine scrub particles or exfoliating gel.
- Soft towel or cotton pads.
- Warm water to gently open pores.
- Moisturizer or hydrating mask after exfoliation.
- (Optional) Toner and recovery/repair serum.
2. Skin Preparation
- Tie hair back neatly and wash hands thoroughly.
- Remove makeup carefully if wearing makeup or sunscreen.
- Keep skin clean, dry, or slightly damp depending on the product instructions.
B. Exfoliation Steps
Step 1: Cleanse the Skin
- Use a gentle facial cleanser to remove dirt and excess oil.
- Rinse with warm water to soften the skin.
- Pat dry with a soft towel.
Step 2: Apply Exfoliating Product
- Take an amount about the size of a pea (adjust according to the area).
- Apply evenly to the face (avoid the eye and lip areas).
Step 3: Gentle Massage
- Use fingertips to massage in circular motions, moving from the center outward and from bottom to top.
- Focus on areas with more dead skin cells: nose, chin, and forehead.
- Duration: 1–2 minutes.
- Do not scrub harshly to avoid irritation or skin damage.
Step 4: Rinse Off
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water until completely clean.
- Optionally splash with cool water to help tighten pores.
- Gently pat dry with a soft towel.
Step 5: Moisturize & Repair
- Apply a gentle toner to balance the skin’s pH.
- Use a hydrating or repairing serum (if available).
- Finish with a moisturizer or gel.
C. Important Notes
- Do not exfoliate if the skin is wounded, inflamed, has active acne, or is undergoing strong peeling treatments.
- Avoid combining multiple acid-based products at the same time.
- After exfoliation, avoid using retinol, high-concentration vitamin C, or hair removal treatments.
- Always moisturize well to help restore the skin barrier.
